SILESTONE CARE AND MAINTENANCE

SILESTONE is a quartz surface made from top quality raw materials that present exceptional physical and mechanical features together with unique beauty, ideal for interior decoration. It requires very little maintenance as its unique production process creates a surface with low porosity, which prevents fluid absorption.

SILESTONE is the only quartz surface to include antibacterial protection that ensures the highest degree of hygiene and security.

These guidelines have been developed with you in mind to ensure that you continue to get maximum enjoyment from your Silestone Quartz worktop.

SILESTONE CHARACTERISTICS

  • High durability
  • Colour consistency
  • Low maintenance
  • Antibacterial protection

ROUTINE CLEANING

On a day-to-day basis Silestone simply requires a wipe down with a soft cloth of soap and warm water to maintain its natural beauty and shine.

Regular cleaning and maintenance of Silestone leather finish will help maintain its luxurious texture.

As polished Silestone has a low porosity it does not require the application of any surface sealants and is naturally highly resistance to surface staining from cooking oils, wine, coffee etc...

STUBBORN MARKS

In the event of any stubborn marks on the polished Silestone surface, firstly wipe the area with warm water and then apply original CIF to the area. Rinse area with water after cleaning.

For marks that harden when they dry (food, gum etc...) remove by gently scraping the material off the Silestone surface using a blunt plastic blade then wash and remove any residual matter with a none-abrasive cleaner and warm water.

Any lime-scale or water marks can be removed using household lime-scale removers. Manufacturer's usage recommendations should be adhered to.

HEAT

Silestone is extremely resistant to heat and can withstand high temperatures for brief periods of time without damage. Although Silestone is more heat resistant than most other surfaces, all stone can be damaged by sudden and extreme temperature changes especially near the edges.

For this reason we strongly recommend using a trivet or hot pad to protect your Silestone work surface from extreme heat.

CHEMICALS TO AVOID

Avoid exposing your Silestone work surface to strong chemicals and solvents. Items to avoid include nail polish removers, neat bleach, caustic soda, paint strippers and cleaning solutions that contain trichlorethane or methylene or dimetilchlorine. Also avoid highly aggressive cleaning agents like oven/grill cleaners that high alkaline/PH levels.

If any of the above contaminates are spilled on the surface rinse off immediately with plenty of water to minimise their effect.

GENERAL PRECAUTIONS

Although your Silestone work surface is extremely scratch and heat resistant we recommend that you protect the beauty of your tops by using a chopping board whenever using knives and a hot pad/trivet when using hot pans.
